The Pacific Northwest Loggers U18s pulled off an impressive 33-25 win over the British Columbia U18s over the weekend at the DeWilde Rugby Fields in Ferndale, Wash.
Unbelievable Gift. DeWilde Fields a Jewel of PNW Rugby
This was the same BC team that beat Eagle Impact Rugby Academy two weeks ago, so this was a very good showing from the Loggers.
The Bears started the game putting the Loggers under pressure, scoring first and taking a slim 12-11 lead into the halftime break. British Columbia was running into penalty trouble, however, and that allowed PNW to inch back into the game.
With both teams having trouble stopping attacks once the opposition got into their 22, this made for an exciting, back-and-forth game. With BC having the ascendancy in the scrum and the Loggers getting the upper hand in the lineouts, each had a platform from which to launch.
In the second half the Loggers were able to unleash their open-field running skills and were able to hold the Bears off 33-25.
